Black Friday ? (Maybe)

1128080641 Well Black Friday has come & gone. I had a chance on my way to work today break a rule I have always followed on black Friday and that was to stay away from all the madness that went on at stores all over the place. I have always tried to stay away from the self centered morons that would run over others just to be the first to get something for next to nothing. I have never understood why anyone would want to get up at 3 in the morning or even camp out at the entrance to a store, like these people did at the Micro Center in Denver.

1128080643

When I arrived at the store to see what kind of deals they had, I thought they would have opened at 5 AM like most stores (or even earlier). But, I was wrong they did not open until 7 AM and there was already a very long line. I thought What drives these people to wait this long in the cold for something they may not have or will break just about the time the warranty runs out. But this was not the biggest question on mine mind.

What I really want to find out was How many people would really be out spending their money with an economy that was not doing very well. Most of the people I got to talk to told me they would be cutting back a lot this year because they just did not have the money they had last year to spend. After I left Micro Center I made a quick stop by Wal-Mart just to see how busy they would be. However when I got th1128080714ere, what I saw was a Wal-Mart that was no more busy then any other day of the week or year for that matter. The people just where not there, at least not at this store. I talked to a few people at work and they said the same thing, there just was not that many people shopping like last year. They also said that the deals that some of the stores had was not as good as last year. Hmm I wonder why? Even on my way home as I passed several stores and even a factory outlet mall , they all seemed to be a little void of holiday shoppers. Will this be the usual black Friday boom that retail hopes for? maybe, but then again maybe not.

So here is my question for you. Did you go out into the madness? and if you did why and was it worth it? What did you see? was it crowded or was it empty and slow? Tell me and the other readers about your trip into the “Black Friday adventure”

We need God in America again!

I as a christian standby my beliefs, I think this, video even though it was done in 1993 is as important as ever with the way our country is going and is about to go. Rather you are a christian, a Muslim, a catholic, a Buddhist, etc. Rather you believe or not, you can not deny what history tells us. Even if you rewrite history to your own belief the truth is the truth.

Listen to some of the comments about this video from youtube:

1: on the separation of church and state... funny how they want them to be separate but yet i just voted in a church...

2: We can go on a rant about someones perception of this song, Carman, history...but it doesn't change the truth that our country is becoming weaker because we as a nation are rejecting our Christian roots. We are becoming more 'pagan' and we are reaping the consequences of it. Period!

3: so i guess that when our founding fathers established the concept of "separation of church and state" they were just kidding. and the whole idea of the first amendment that prohibits the united states congress from making laws "respecting an establishment of religion" was a joke. okay. way to rewrite history. this song is idiotic. much like the many people who believe in its message.

4: (In response to 3) You're certainly entitled to your opinion, but don't misunderstand the facts. "Separation of church and state" was not established by our founding fathers. That phrase occurs in one personal letter by Jefferson and is not in the constitution. The first amendment was designed to keep the government from either mandating a state religion or interfering with the free practice of religion. In Wallace v. Jaffree, Justice Rehnquist presented the view that the establishment clause was intended to protect local establishments of religion from federal interference-- a view which diminished the strong separation views of the Court. Justice Scalia has criticized the metaphor as a bulldozer removing religion from American public life. (Wikipedia)

These were just 4 responses to the video from youtube.com. So even if you don't believe or you think this is just some right wing radical christian, what would be your solution to the problem we have here in America today. Come on tell everyone "What Say You"
