Well here is something that has got me so fired up; I am surprised that my computer is not on fire right now. That shameful thing known as “POLITICAL CORRECTNESS” has finally invaded the last safe place on earth “The world of sports” and unbeknownst to my self and probably most of you it has been going on for quite some time.
What got me to write about this was an article I read & a thing I heard about on the news. It Dealt with a Texas high school girls basketball team that beat another team 100 to 0. Now the teams involved are not what I want to talk about. What I want to talk about is the reaction from this winning team. Some of the things I read said it was shameful and should not have been allowed. Kyle Queal who is the head of the school said
"It is shameful and an embarrassment that this happened," Kyle Queal, the head of the school, said in a statement, adding the forfeit was requested because "a victory without honor is a great loss."
The school also apologize to the other school for winning.
"We humbly apologize for our actions and seek the forgiveness of Dallas Academy, TAPPS and our community."
What on earth are we teaching our kids? When we tell them that it’s ok everyone is a winner even though they just lost is just plain wrong. In the real world there are winners & losers, that’s real life. Yet, in schools and even in sports and recreation departments we don’t allow our kids to play to their full strength. By holding them back and telling them it’s not far to score that high, we take away what sports really is, competition with Winners AND Losers.
Ask yourself this question, What would the pro sports world be like if the referees and coaches held their players back or told their players not to score any more points because we don’t want the other team to feel bad? Just imagine if the NFL told a team you can’t score any more points because they had to many point as it is. Football would be very boring. What about pro basket ball, hockey, NASCAR, and even Boxing.
There is something very wrong when we hand out trophies to kids who place dead last in some kind of sports event. By doing this we teach our kids that there is no such thing as a winner in sports and that if you lose, you still will get something. When you tell a winner that every one get an award just for being there, you teach him not to try as hard as he can because it don’t mean anything. As for the loser, you teach him the same thing. he doesn’t have to try because every one wins, so there is no reason to better him self.
In conclusion, Let me say this, It is ok to feel bad for the losing team, but not to the point that you have to say your sorry for winning. If we do that, then what we are really saying is sorry you not good enough to beat us, and that is just as bad. If we teach our kids the “POLITICAL CORRECT” way to do things we rob them of just a small peace of what the real world is like and teach them to live in a world that is not real.

Shortly after this game the coach Micah Grimes was fired for not apologizing. The coach was quoted in the Chicago Tribune as saying:
"In response to the statement posted on The Covenant School Web site, I do not agree with the apology or the notion that the Covenant School girls basketball team should feel embarrassed or ashamed," Grimes wrote in the e-mail, according to the newspaper. "We played the game as it was meant to be played. My values and my beliefs would not allow me to run up the score on any opponent, and it will not allow me to apologize for a wide-margin victory when my girls played with honor and integrity."
The tribune went on to say:
Grimes, who has been criticized for letting the game get so far out of hand, made it clear in the e-mail Sunday to the newspaper that he does not agree with his school's assessment.
I for one think it is very shameful for the school to fire this coach. He did nothing wrong and should have never been fired. The shame and embarrassment should be on the school for firing this coach. Way to go coach, I applaud you for standing up to what is right. Here is a School coach that gets it.
